MG Motor is all set to reveal the full price range of its latest electric car, the Windsor EV, tomorrow on 20th September. This new EV was launched in India on 11th September, but at the time, only the introductory price of the base model was shared. The starting price was set at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This price includes the company’s BaaS (Battery as a Service) option, which allows buyers to pay for the battery separately.
Power and Performance
The MG Windsor EV comes with a 38kWh battery pack, which provides a claimed range of 331 km on a full charge. This means you can drive up to 331 kilometers before needing to recharge. The car is powered by an electric motor that drives the front wheels, delivering 134 bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. To give drivers flexibility, the car offers four different driving modes:
- Eco
- Eco+
- Normal
- Sport
These modes help adjust the car’s performance and battery usage depending on the driver’s needs.
Variants and Features
The Windsor EV will be available in three variants:
- Excite (entry-level)
- Exclusive
- Essence (top-end)
While the price for the Excite variant is already revealed, the prices for the other two variants, Exclusive and Essence, will be announced tomorrow.
The top-spec Essence variant is packed with premium features. Some of the key highlights include:
- Panoramic sunroof for a luxurious feel.
- 360-degree camera to help with parking and tight spaces.
- Dual digital screens that add a modern touch to the dashboard.
- Connected car technology that keeps the car connected to the internet for navigation, updates, and more.
- Powered driver’s seat for added comfort.
One of the standout features of the Windsor EV is its 135-degree reclining rear seat in the second row. This allows passengers to lean back for extra comfort during long drives.
Where Does Windsor EV Fit?
This is MG’s third electric vehicle (EV) for the Indian market, after the Comet EV and the ZS EV. Based on the expected price range, the Windsor EV will likely be positioned between the Comet EV (a more affordable option) and the ZS EV (a more premium offering). This makes the Windsor EV a good middle-ground choice for buyers looking for an electric car that offers good features at a competitive price.
What to Expect Next
The full price details for all the variants will be revealed tomorrow. Additionally, if you are curious about how the Windsor EV performs on the road, MG will release a detailed car review on 21st September at 11:00 am.
Stay tuned to get more details on the pricing and features, and see if this EV fits your needs for a clean, green, and modern car option in India!
